Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a high-acuity Labor and Delivery position requiring 2+ years of recent experience and prior travel assignments.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 19-bed Labor & Delivery unit within a hospital setting
• Care for high-acuity obstetric patients with patient ratios of 1-2:1
• Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, three shifts per week
• On-call required for 12 hours in a six-week scheduling period
• Floating to other units and sister campuses is required, with travelers prioritized
• Uses Epic EMR and experience with this system is required or preferred
• Scrub colors are Galaxy Blue and/or White
• Candidates must be able to handle complex and high-risk deliveries
• All RTO or schedule requests must be submitted at the time of application; no holiday RTO allowed
• Orientation begins on Friday, with remote orientation and in-person badge/ID pickup required
• Team-oriented culture expecting travelers to function as core staff
• Strict 50-mile radius rule from permanent address; candidate may not own or cosign property within 50 miles
• Holiday coverage is expected as part of the schedule
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Requirements

• Active FL or Compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course completion required
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring and EFM certification preferred
• Minimum 2 years of L&D nursing experience required
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Degree from an accredited nursing program or a minimum of 5 years of experience
