The Beacon Grand is quintessential San Francisco, symbolizing progressive thinking while also celebrating its storied heritage. Starlite Server Assistant / Busser/ Barback

The busser contributes to a pleasant dining experience by cleaning and setting tables, restocking plates, or (at times) serving food.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares dining room for guests by setting decorations, service plates, and utensils.
  • Protects the establishment and guests by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
  • Maintains menu presentation by keeping menus clean, replacing damaged or soiled pages, and cleaning chalkboards.
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed, refilling water glasses, and being attentive to additional needs. Closes the restaurant by cleaning chairs and tables.
  • Supports servers and bartenders by performing necessary work duties.
  • Responsible for guest maintenance by clearing plates, watering tables and resetting tables
  • Remove trash, polish glassware and restock supplies
  • Run drinks to tables as needed
Required Skills/Responsibilities:
  • 1-2 years prior room service experience in upper-upscale hotel.
  • Previous Customer Service required.
  • Some wine and fine food knowledge helpful.
  • Food Handling and Alcohol Service Certifications required.
  • Read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other Team Members
Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous customer service experience required.
  • 2-3 years restaurant experience preferred.
  • Luxury/Upper-upscale hotel experience preferred.
Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee is regularly required to bend, push, squat, pull, kneel, crawl, stand, walk, talk, or hear.
  • Long hours are sometimes required.
  • May be required to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to lift a minimum of 20lbs occasionally and 25lbs regularly
