Applications are being accepted for the position of Restaurant Manager and Chef (Preferred) for our 1601 W. Main Street, Mesa AZ 85201 campus location.

Position Summary
Under general supervision, the Restaurant Manager and Chef is responsible for overseeing daily operations of a 60-seat restaurant. Open schedule Monday through Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Duties include managing all aspects of restaurant operations, developing and maintaining a competitive menu, overseeing purchasing and budget management, and supervising staff to ensure efficient service and exceptional customer satisfaction. The Restaurant Manager will also recruit and employ EVIT culinary students, providing them with hands-on industry experience in a professional restaurant setting.



Job Type: Full Time, Exempt


Salary: $55,000 - $70,000 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience, teaching experience, and certification.
This position is eligible for performance-based bonus for exceeding financial goals and includes EVIT employee benefits.

Education and Experience:
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of progressive restaurant or counter-service experience, including culinary management and staff supervision in a high-volume operation. •
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams of 5 or more kitchen and service staff.
  • Proven knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with hands-on experience implementing and maintaining compliance in a commercial kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, train, and motivate diverse teams.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment with shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with culinary management software such as CostGuard, ChefTec, or equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
  • Prior experience as a Chef or Executive Chef in a commercial kitchen, with demonstrated skill in menu development, food presentation, and culinary innovation.
  • Combination experience as both a Restaurant Manager and Chef strongly preferred, reflecting a deep understanding of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Experience training or mentoring culinary students or apprentices in a professional restaurant setting.
  • Experience implementing cost control strategies and maintaining profitability in a high-volume environment.
Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements:
  • Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Level 1 IVP Fingerprint Card
  • Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.
  • Current Serv Safe Food Protection Manager certification
