Accounting Technician, Senior San Diego Community College District Location: San Diego City College, San Diego City College Position Type: Classified Closing Date: 10/3/2025 Position Number: 00120481 Summary Applications are being accepted for the Senior Accounting Technician in Business Services at San Diego City College. This is a full-time, classified position with a 12-month workload. The salary range is 23 ($5,448.21 - $6,814.00) per month, starting at Step F. Step placement is non-negotiable. This position is FLSA Non-exempt and may accrue overtime. Hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Work days/hours may be adjusted based on the department’s needs. Benefits Excellent benefits are provided to all contract employees with assignments greater than or equal to 50% FTE and eligible dependents. Employment Terms Temporary probationary period applies. A temporary transfer to another site may occur at the Chancellor’s option. Eligibility and Documentation Required documents include official college transcripts, a TB exam certificate, fingerprint clearance via Live Scan (district expense), proof of eligibility to work in the United States, and attendance at a new hire processing appointment. All documents must be provided per the online application instructions. Qualifications Major Responsibilities Perform a wide variety of paraprofessional accounting work. Prepare clear and accurate financial statements and reports, and analyze accounting data. Analyze situations independently and adopt an effective course of action. Perform customer service work in a high-volume environment. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Work independently with little direction and with discretion. Meet schedules and timelines; plan and organize work. Train and provide work direction to assigned personnel; maintain records and prepare reports. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Qualifications Desired qualifications include those listed above; foreign degree evaluation is required if applicable.
